Open auditions for Sundown Collaborative Theatre presents Twynky and Goobyr presents An evening of short plays; or "We apologize in advance." A series of original short plays to be showcased around Denton. The Auditions will be Sunday, July 5th from 12pm - 6pm at 1117 Wintercreek Dr. Denton, TX 76210. I need musicians of all kinds for the 4th of July Parade.? Get the dust off that instrument in the closet and get out and have some fun! I know it is short notice, but I was asked if I could resurrect the old "Plan-O-People" marching band for the parade. What's a parade without a band? I started this all volunteer band in 1999 and it disbanded in 07" and had 65 members in its final appearnce Anyway , depending on how much response I get will determine what we do. I am open to any ideas? Maybe we can doing a roving " Corner Street Band" thing ( jazz street band?) if we don't get significant response. I have percussion equipment ( 2 parade snares & Bass drum) Any HS drum lines want to get some work in? Also have flag holder gear as well. . Does anyone have a trailer or flat bed truck maybe? Worth and Dallas. This area is traditionally referred to as the Golden Triangle and our largest shopping mall shares this name. Established in 1857, Denton is the county seat of Denton County, and was named for John B. Denton. John Denton was a lawyer, preacher, and a soldier. His grave is on the courthouse lawn in the center of Denton's historic downtown square. The center-piece of the downtown square is the old Denton County Courthouse which was erected in 1896 and restored in 1987. The courthouse contains a museum highlighting historic photographs and artifacts from the City's founding to the present. Denton is the proud home of two public Universities; Texas Woman's University and the University of North Texas, the 3rd largest university in the State of Texas, with a combined enrollment of approximently 40,000 students. Denton is also the home town of Grammy Award winning band Brave Combo and the Grammy Award winning 1 O'Clock Lab band as well as the former stomping grounds of UNT alumni Don Henley, Roy Orbison and Pat Boone. |
